Army Regulation Monthly Counseling

sprite Mother 3, Now Available with Non-script texts in Spanish

After a long period of silence (but not passive or much less) we decided to give an intensive review of texts non-script of the game and hang a provisional version of the game to make the wait more bearable.

What does this mean? Nothing more and nothing less than a version of Mother 3 with all the texts on menus, names, text descriptions of battle and objects and enemies in English COMPLETELY. Thus, the game is quite enjoyable even without knowledge of English, although talks of characters (which is still the script) remain in the original language.

is a decision we have thought for a while to see that the revision of the script will take longer than expected, because the texts translated by each member of the team were too different to be natural in the final set. It's something that could have been avoided from the start, in effect, but regret is useless at this point, which is just keep working at it and find solace in that you can take advantage of much earlier material.

therefore hope that this version of the ROM will help you to calm down and be a small example of how long we work by:

MOTHER 3 non-script text

One more thing If you really want to help accelerate the review process of the game now is your chance. All you are going to play this version you can get caught bugs you find in the game or translations and convince you not to upload to the blog, so we could focus entirely on progress with the script while we note sugiráis the changes.

course, if your intention is to put upside down the whole translation at this point ... forget it. We will consider any well-argued and reasonable suggestion, but no one's personal whims.

Then a quick round of questions and answers, as anticipation of predictable reactions of people:

Q: How much time waiting and now we go out with this?
R: There have been problems with the script and little time to solve, but we in it. It's this or nothing, you prefer to to exit the script.

Q: "Why do we have to do the dirty work to the test? That's up to you! "

R: That I ask you to prove if there are errors or things that are not well translated does not mean that we have not spent enough time by testing and correcting multiple errors. This version has no serious problems beyond those discussed below, so surely there is little change.
Q: "What about the script when?"
A: The script is still forging ahead, a few days more, some less, but moving forward. As long ago advised, we have a social life to attend to: work, occupations, education, etc ... entendedlo.
P: "Gang of useless! What else do the translation, which will surely end soon!"
A: If that's what I encourage you to think the script and I bajéis curréis an alternative translation with your own resources. Of course, we are forbidden to pass the dump script tools, so the translation would have to go through us anyway.

THE SCRIPT

With this you're not saying we should do the job or anything, just want to give you an idea of \u200b\u200bwhat we have at hand and what it takes to leave it as God commands. And it is very easy to speak from ignorance ... there have been few such messages that have touched us morals, and certainly very little show more appreciation.
Q: Could you update a little more often, I say ... "
A: That you do not have a point. First Down be updated as we corrected things in the ROM, making changes to it or move forward with the script significantly, but we can not promise a regular basis.

Last but not least, we inform the persistent weaknesses in the ROM in which we are working to correct:

- Some articles (the, the, the, etc ...) associated with enemies still a nuisance and still not get to appear as they should , so do not be surprised if you see things as ever:

"The attack did not affect the Puercareto!"

"It did not work in the Lizard Sandy! "

which is undoubtedly more headaches has given us all this time.

- When you purchase a piece of equipment and you go to equip a new text that asks if you sell the old equipment is overwritten with the previous one and is unreadable. This one we have almost fixed, thankfully.

That's all for now, will update with corrections and other things as soon as possible.

Thanks for your patience and your support, as always.

Grocery Delivery Business Names

A look at our work

you have you ever wondered how living development project managers to do it?

Today I show a little way we work
(text written by the team leader: Jimmytrius)

The first thing to know is that in a game we find two kinds of text: the non-script text and text script. The first covers all the text on object names, menus, characters, etc ... the script text, however, consists of all the dialogues that develop the game's story. This latter type of text (the most voluminous) is that we still have to check to give the nod to the translation.

The script is stored in a text file like this:

As several people and we are interested to work all at once, what is done is to divide the script into predefined blocks (there are about 1000) and each one is in charge of their own.
translate When we try to follow some guidelines:

- Do not exceed the amount of original text and respect the partitions and positioning of labels in order to spare unnecessary bugs. This sometimes limits us a lot and makes the translation of certain texts, but in general we gracefully:

@ Alright, That Should Do It! [WAIT]
@ [FLINT 23 January 2000]! [WAIT]
@ Be Careful coming up! [END]

@ Well, this should enough! [WAIT]
@ [FLINT 23 January 2000]! [WAIT]
@ Be careful climbing! [END]

Of course, our priority is to respect the essence of English texts, so that when something can not occupy the same as in the original there's nothing to do, it becomes as short as possible and so that does not sound forced.

- Keep all the gags as possible, adapted to our language or replaced by others when there are no equivalents in English. Team members show much imagination in this:

@ * hop * [WAIT]
@ Wave your game? [PAUSE 20 00] [BREAK]
... Wait, that's not right. [WAIT]
@ I mean, save your game? [WAIT]
[MENU February 2000] [MENUSPACEYES] Yes [MENUSPACENO] No [BREAK]
[ENDCHOICES] [END]

@ * hop * [ WAIT]
@ "restrict the game? [PAUSE 20 00] [BREAK]
... Wait, was not. [WAIT]
@ Ahem, Save the game? [WAIT]
[MENU February 2000] [MENUSPACEYES] Yes [MENUSPACENO] No [BREAK]
[ENDCHOICES] [END]

Mother 3 is full of phrases with double meanings, puns and allusions. Although this has been a source of many headaches, we must recognize that it has also led to a very funny discussion between us.

- Ensure no spelling errors and inappropriate forms of expression. We reviewed the texts over and over again to ensure that nothing escapes us, and if we see that something can be corrected or improved, we do.

As they finished and revised texts passed to a second phase in which the spokesman of the computer (server) texts appropriate to introduce a new script created specifically for the game, in which review the text and are placed in the appropriate place. All these tasks are performed with a nozzle useful text created by the people of Starmen.net:

This program can modify the text more easily, preview will look at the game, look for repetitive text and apply the changes all at once instead of going one by one, etc ... definitely speeds up the process, but Nor does it all, much less. Some errors by locating them within the program itself, but many others are to be found by eye.

The most problematic issue is that only one person can work with this program, which means that that person has to do a few things:

- Check again all the texts to see that follow the guidelines listed above, and modify them if they fail any pattern. The duration of this process depends largely on the emphasis placed by each translator when revising their texts.

- Unify styles so that no strange situations in which reference is made to the same term with different names (for example, if something is called "Vital Water" may not appear as "Water of Life" in another text ) or dialogues for the same character are radically different ... each character speaks in a very concrete, and it is necessary to maintain consistency in all his texts. If a character used to talk about how contrived and batteries can not do that in a moment gets to speak as an ordinary person the street, and so on.

Where do all these things are necessary to enter the script in the ROM and test the game to check it out properly. The truth is that if taken care of all the previous sections, the number of bugs that can occur is laughable, but always beating around the eye, because we have had cases of the game even start because of a small error of all in the less desirable place ... It is quite annoying, and that is why we are so scrupulous review of the text, and save us long-term problems, which probably would be much more complex to solve.

As this is more or less in we are busy right now. We still can not give an exact date, but I think we're making good progress. The project is progressing a little each day, so do not be afraid.

Axis 206 Camera Repair

doubtful For

Greetings all, I am Jimmytrius, team leader and spokesman of the Mother 3 translation into English.

In view of recent doubts arising as to whether we are really working on the translation and if we are bluffing or something, I want to address all those people who question the content of entries and tell following on behalf of itself and the other fellow:

spare understand your fears and your impatience around the project, as there are many cases in which the translations made by fans are abandoned and left half. We are also aware that the project is going slower than desirable and that we are not giving too many signs of life, and all these things we apologize, but at the same time we want to properly understand our situation.

First, we emphasize that this work is carried out is entirely voluntary and disinterested, with the sole intention of making it even more accessible this great game called Mother 3 for any player interested in it is repelled by language barrier. That has been the goal of this project from the beginning today and that remains our mission.

Here where you see us, we are the same as all of you: PLAYERS, only that ... players dedicated enough to sacrifice some of their time so that others may benefit his fellow man, humble enough players to do this great work without seeking recognition or attention to change, players passionate enough to want the best possible outcome is not a thing done in any way ... that's the first thing we want you to consider all of us, that we are exactly like you.

That said, we concienciaros the sheer volume of this project has had people translating, revising and editing texts for many hours over a year. The amount of text that houses Mother 3 is by no means negligible, and greatly surprised us all, especially when we receive the script and saw how much work we had before ... honestly, we were overwhelmed, but having come this far we would not throw away everything we had achieved.

The translation process involves bringing together people from different places with very different schedules and availability variable ... some work, some study and others do many things at once ... not easy to put together a complete team so regulated by the MSN, and sometimes it is difficult to contact the private subforum that we have in Starmen.net ... has been member who had to leave for various reasons and personal, and others do not always have time to move as they would like, but we still out on this, we get to have all the game text translated.

"Why take so long to leave the game, then?", You may ask some ... well, I'll explain.

Although I have in my possession all game text in English does not mean it is all work as head of the team ... I'm the only one who has access to the tools dump the ROM data, and take care to give the nod to the final results, which implies a number of things:

- I must review all translations of my colleagues even though they have done so previously, making sure there are no misspellings, grammatical or conceptual. It also falls on me the task of unifying "styles" for the translation to be consistent, keep some consistency and not give the impression of having been put out to chunks that have been put together in any way. It is not easy.

- I would check that the script code is correct at all times to avoid errors or bugs in the game. There have been times in which the game was not working directly for the simple fact that was missing a tag [END] "in one of the thousands of lines of text in the script ... despite the tools that we provide the people of Starmen.net ( always very attentive and willing to help) make it much easier to things, not always easy to find the cause of these problems, and we have to implement the classical "trial and error, which also helps to add hours of work.

This is not to diminish the importance of the work of my colleagues or give impression that I do it all ... not at all true. What I want is to let you know that the latter stages of the project fall on one person (in this case me) is not a job that can be done faster with more people, because others can not really do much after reviewing its part of the translation and took delivery of me. However, whenever I see the collaboration of my colleagues can accelerate the process in something do not hesitate to ask your help, of course.

Personally, I try to move everything I can every day, however little, in what I allow my work and other priority tasks relating to my professional training and (incidentally) my personal time for leisure. The rest of the team is no exception, and also has a life beyond the translation, which sometimes affects them the same way that I, as usual.

Basically we have almost as many want to finish this as you, because despite being a rewarding experience, too time-consuming, but we have always given priority to the success of the project, and I mean a couple of bad accents placed far from it. Move as fast as we can without sacrificing our priorities (studies and work come first, that is indisputable) but keeping the consistency as far as possible, and always thinking of you, because we will not give it the best we can offer you.

really do not win anything mintiéndoos on this, and we feel bad that desconfiéis of us after all this time, so the only thing we can expect of you lay your patience: UNDERSTANDING. We greatly appreciate your confidence and your support encourages us to move forward ... that's why we ask you not leave us aside, and we ask that we never do that with you.

Before I left you, I want to say that if we do not update the blog lately is because we are making advances that are so significant as to when I finish translating everything ... ie not BELIEVE that contribute too much to say things like that we have corrected and revised 20 blocks of new text ... however try to find ways to give more good atmosphere to the blog in the future, the way it is, because we are aware that this is reassuring and is synonymous with the thing does not stand.

That said, I say "soon", but not before I hire me assure you that even further for not disappointed, feeling that I'm sure the rest of the team shared. We are unable to approximate dates of completion yet, but will be the closest possible.

Greetings to everyone!

Renting Farmhouse Tables

completely translated Mother 3! Mother 1 and 2

Today begins a new year, and as we started well we are pleased to announce that the game is finally translated into 100% and have already started work late testing and review. We are in the final stretch of this enormous project, and therefore we strive to polish the fruit of our effort all we can to ensure that the result is unbeatable.

not venture even to give us estimated dates of completion because it has become clear that contingencies (living up to its name) appears when you least expect it, something that becomes obvious when we consider that we wanted to have the game translated and revised to this time ... the fact is that we are giving you all the haste we can and try to combine this with our routine chores as best we can. So, I ask one last push from you, one last breath to endure with patience what is missing so that you have in your hand Mother 3 in English. We assure you that will pay off.

With your support our efforts and do everything possible so that this year is the year of Mother 3, a great year that you can not ever forget, not on your side, or for ours.

Happy 2010 to everyone from the whole team!
